Changes are afoot in the Louis Plung Audit Department! Promotions in the Audit Department were announced in early 2024 and several staff members were promoted to the level of Senior.

Congrats to Matt Goss, CPA/ABV, MBA for earning his ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation), a professional designation awarded to certified public accountants (CPAs) who specialize in calculating businesses’ value. The ABV is overseen by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Tony Montanaro has been named to the Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Council (EPC)— Congratulations, Tony! The EPC-Pittsburgh is affiliated with the Estate Planning Council of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC) and hosts educational and social events throughout the year to bring together professionals involved in all aspects of estate planning.
Tia Ellison - Marketing Coordinator
Congrats to Tia Ellison – along with her senior capstone class at Point Park University – who received an award at the Public Relations Society of America Renaissance Awards for their “Not Your Grandma’s Opera” marketing campaign for the Pittsburgh Opera. The award ceremony took place on January 25th at the Fairmont.

The Louis Plung team joined over 500 other M&A professionals for the annual all-day conference presented by SmartBusiness. Louis Plung Chief Marketing Officer Beth Bershok and Partner Tom Bakaitus were part of a lively panel discussion co-presented with CIBC – Shaken Not Stirred: The M&A Cocktail in the Mix of Shifting Economic Forces.
Big thanks to panelists Jim Nickel (CIBC), Kenn Moritz (Stonewood Capital), and Brian McGowan (Armada Supply Chain Solutions).
The connections continued at a post-event happy hour that we co-hosted with CIBC at Eddie Merlot’s.

The Louis Plung & Company Social Committee is a group that plans and coordinates events and activities to boost office morale, inter-departmental teamwork, and achieve a good work-life balance, while supporting and helping charities within the community. The Social Committee was created almost 10 years ago and its members are of all staff levels and specialties from within the firm.
Valentine's Day Goodie Bags- The Social Committee sure knows how to spread love at the LPC office! In honor of Valentine’s Day, the Social Committee passed out goodie bags with the cleverest Valentine’s accounting puns.
Popcorn Day- If you haven’t heard, we love the national food holidays! In LPC fashion, we celebrated National Popcorn Day with Pittsburgh Popcorn Company.
Happy Hours (March 15th & April 18th)- We celebrated the March 15th tax deadline with an in-house Happy Hour & game night followed by a big celebration at Pins Mechanical on the South Side on April 18th.

EmpowerHER – In Honor of Women’s History Month
On March 15th, Louis Plung CMO Beth Bershok, Partner Lindsay Andrews, Senior Manager Rachel Jenista, and Audit Senior Miranda Safran attended the EmpowerHer breakfast and panel discussion at the Duquesne Club to discuss how women are rapidly shaping the economy through healthcare, real estate, and education.
United Way Women’s Leadership Council (now Women United) Celebrate to Elevate!
On April 10th, CMO Beth Bershok, Partner Lindsay Andrews, and Audit Senior Anastasia Woosley had a fantastic evening at United Way Women’s Leadership Council’s (WLC) ‘Celebrate to Elevate’ event at the PNC Firstside Center, where it was revealed that the WLC would now be known as Women United! It was a night filled with tons of meaningful conversations & fabulous networking.
