Client Reminder: File Sharing with Egnyte

At Louis Plung & Company, we are always looking for ways to better serve our clients. Earlier this year, we invested in technology to streamline your file sharing and tax processing and switched from ShareFile to Egnyte.

If you haven’t yet made the switch to Egnyte, be advised that ShareFile will no longer be an option after October 31, 2024.

The Pittsburgh Business Group’s ‘Super Seven’ | April 25

On April 25, Louis Plung CMO Beth Bershok attended and spoke on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, at the Pittsburgh Business Group’s Super Seven event in the Waterfront. It was an inspiring event filled with meaningful conversations and connecting.

Financial Industries Network Annual Sporting Clays Shoot | May 2

On May 2, the audit department took on Seven Springs at Highland Sporting Clays with Financial Industries Network (FIN) for their annual Sporting Clays Shoot event! Audit Senior Manager, Rachel Jenista is also on the Board of Directors for FIN.

National Association of Corporate Directors Awards Gala | May 9

On May 9, the Louis Plung team attended the National Association of Corporate Directors Awards Gala in support of good friends James Nickel (CIBC), who received the Leadership in Non-Profit Governance award and David Shapira (Giant Eagle) who received the William Hernandez Lifetime Achievement in Governance award.

Congratulations are in order for CMO Beth Bershok for being named Board Chair of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council! Beth will help implement a new plan that the council approved during a months-long strategic planning process.

Jewish Family & Community Services | Gregg Dektor

Tax Director, Gregg Dektor, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Jewish Family and Community Services (JFCS)—a nonprofit organization that has been providing their services to the Greater Pittsburgh region for over 90 years. Congratulations, Gregg!

SOCIAL COMMITTEE

The Louis Plung & Company Social Committee is a group that plans and coordinates events and activities to boost office morale, inter-departmental teamwork, and achieve a good work-life balance, while supporting and helping charities within the community.  The Social Committee was created almost 10 years ago and its members are of all staff levels and specialties from within the firm.

Pittsburgh Marathon | May 4

Louis Plung has some outstanding runners! Audit Supervisor Miranda Safran, Audit Senior Sam Heineman, and Tax Senior Donna Parlak completed the half-marathon, and Audit Staff Member Garrett Yarman finished the full marathon.

Red Robin Catering | June 6

The Social Committee knows just the right way to bring smiles to the Louis Plung office—on June 6, the team came together to mingle and enjoy a delicious lunch catered by Red Robin!

Pirates Game | June 18

Even with a triple digit heat index, the Louis Plung team and their families came together on June 18 to celebrate the Pittsburgh Pirates (and to visit our all-time favorite—Skull Bar, at PNC Park)!

A Louis Plung Luau | July 10

Complete with pink flamingos and festive drink umbrellas, the Louis Plung team took break at lunchtime to enjoy a luau-themed lunch with delicious tropical treats from Big Shot Bob’s House of Wings!

Supporting Our Community

The Pittsburgh Metsquerade | April 20

On April 20th, Partner Scott Blatchford, his wife Marta and son Mason were part of the Pittsburgh Metsquerade at the Marriot Center and helped raise money for metastatic breast cancer research through the Metavivor Research and Support Inc. By the end of the evening, over $176,000 was raised!

Midnight Radio | April 26

On April 26, Louis Plung Partners Lindsay Andrews, Tony Montanaro, Tom Bakaitus and CMO Beth Bershok attended the Duquesne Club for A Midnight Radio Production, performed by Bricolage. All proceeds went to The Neighborhood Academy—a college preparatory school for grades 6-12 dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by empowering youth.

PGH Walk to End Alzheimer's | May 23

Louis Plung is back as a proud sponsor of the Pittsburgh Walk to End Alzheimer’s! On May 23rd, CMO Beth Bershok joined other sponsors and corporate teams for Dollar Bank’s corporate mixer in support of the beginning of walk season.
