Managing Partner Lou Plung Makes His Forbes Debut
On April 17th, Lou Plung was named one of America’s Best-in-State CPAs by Forbes! Lou was one of three Pittsburgh-metro area CPA’s to be recognized in the 2025 inaugural list. This list was determined by influence on the profession, community service, and thought leadership.
CMO Beth Bershok has been named one of the honorees for Pittsburgh Business Times’ Woman of Influence Award! The award ceremony will take place at Acrisure Stadium on May 21, 2025.

Hosted by the Professional Services Marketing Association and PLAA, CMO Beth Bershok appeared on a panel with Waldron Private Wealth Business Development Specialist, Lynne Schultz to share their insights on business development, tips on networking and approaches to take when strategizing your personal development plan.
Smart Business Dealmakers Conference| February 27
Partner Tom Bakaitus and CMO Beth Bershok represented LPC on a lively panel discussion at the conference regarding the relevancy of letter of intent (LOI) and how it aids in sealing a business deal. Partner Tony Montanaro followed with a Smart Business podcast on LOIs.

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania
Louis Plung’s Marketing & Client Experience Manager
Alyssa Falarski is a member of the Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania Young Professionals Board. JA equips students with the skills needed for future success through hands-on programs in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.
On April 3rd, Alyssa volunteered at one of Junior Achievement’s signature initiative’s Biztown. Along with other community volunteers, she guided third and fourth graders through a simulated town experience as they applied real-world concepts by managing businesses, handling finances, and practicing civic responsibility. Later in the month, she participated in a Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser that raised over $20,000 for JA’s programs.
The Louis Plung & Company Social Committee is a group that plans and coordinates events and activities to boost office morale, inter-departmental teamwork, and achieve a good work-life balance, while supporting and helping charities within the community. The Social Committee was created almost 10 years ago and its members are of all staff levels and specialties from within the firm.
Whew—what a much-needed party! The Louis Plung team gathered at Revel & Roost in Downtown Pittsburgh to unwind, chat, and celebrate the finale of tax season.
As always, it was a great time being able to spend some bonding time with our colleagues.

AAIC Neuroscience Next Conference | February 25
CMO Beth Bershok spoke at the AAIC Neuroscience Next, a global conference that raises awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and sheds light on the recent research that has been gathered from clinicians and scientists. There were only 12 hub cities that hosted Neuroscience Next globally. Pittsburgh was one out of the two cities that hosted the conference in the U.S.!
Ruffed Grouse Society Annual Banquet | March 7
Hosted at the DoubleTree Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry, Senior Garrett Yarman, Senior Peyton Michaels, and Senior Manager Brandon Bupp attended Ruffed Grouse Society’s 46th Annual Banquet on March 7th, where the local community comes together to promote and support a safe and healthy forest wildlife.
Robert Morris University Accounting Class Visit | April 8
HR Director Bill Kerl, Tax Senior Manager Tao He, Audit Senior Manager Joe Repko, and Tax Staff Member Adam Cox took a trip to RMU and presented to the Intermediate I Accounting class. Discussing all things from tips on landing their dream job in the industry to informing them on crucial software and technology in accounting, the team had a great time!
Pittsburgh Parade Day Dash| March 15
On March 15th, Senior Auditor Doug Levis volunteered in the post-race festivities at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Day Dah 5k and 1-mile run.
This first-time ever event took place in Market Square Downtown.
